Apples everywhere at Hacklebarney Farm in Chester

At Chester's Hacklebarney Farm Cider Mill, there are apples in everything.

There are hot dogs cooked in cider, cider sauerkraut and baked beans with apples; cider doughnuts of several varieties; apple dumplings; a diverse spread of baked-on-the-premises pies and pastries; and, of course, the cider itself - served hot or cold.

"I always keep cider in everything that I can possibly put it in," said Robert Jacobson, 55, general manager of the farm and the bakery's chief doughnut maker.
